what a crazy weekend.
friday we had band practice with an audience i totally didn't expect. it was a good set even though i snapped another e string. fast improv lyrics are hard.
then that night we went to long beach to josh's party. basically andres, kristy, and i got really baked and ate close to our body weight in chips and pizza.
the next day, christian came over to see me groggy from the night before. we went to lunch with my dad and he even filled my gas tank, which always cheers me up substantially. we got back and picked up sam before heading to marianne's for a barbeque. after about an hour there we left for christian's house, where i was spending the night. well, we ended up crashing a party at the loews hotel a few blocks away with sam and cesar. surprisingly i met people that i went to loyola with. sooo random.
anyway, christian's mom was out of town so we headed back to christian's apartment with a few limes and a 4-pack of red bull. you can guess what they were for. long story short, i'm guessing i had about 4 shots of tequila, 2 vodka red bulls, and more than half a small bottle of jack. i was fucking smashed beyond belief and making drunken phone calls to the usuals, who didn't come along. i heard the messages i left on andres' cellphone today and couldn't help but laugh. good times, but i'm ready to not drink again for a while.
today i got back and andres and kristy came over so she could sign up for her classes. stress, stress, stress. then we looked through my old cds and listened to blink-182's dude ranch. coincidentally, i found my 8th grade yearbook and all the pieces came together.
ah, nostalgia.
we left my house and i got nikki to come out of her apartment to say 'hi' after an extended period of pleading. such an egoboost. then we drove around looking for cafes, but this being sunday night in los angeles, of course we didn't find any. we finally settled on jerry's deli, which is open 24-hours. after ordering 3 coffees and onion rings, kendra, our waitress, asked if we wanted anything else, and we stated quite flatly that we couldn't since we were broke. she sympathized and informed us of the complimentary items we could take advantage of. she told us that she knew where we were coming from, being a struggling college student herself. my god, we were full when we left. her tip was sizable to say the least.
then we walked around the marina del ray parking lots philosophizing and reminiscing some more. like andres said, it was one of the best uneventful evenings we've had this summer.
