mood: down music: 'a worrying thing' by yo la tengo

yesterday was andres' birthday, so i spent about 3 hours with his gir.lfriend kristy gathering many many random presents for him. i envy andres. he's gotten more gifts in the last 24 hours than i've gotten in the last 2 years at the very least. ( i obviously don't get very many gifts.) between the both of us alone, we got him a box of 36 starburst packages, a bag of beef jerky, an 8 inch chocolate cake, 3 pairs of stripey socks, 2 bags of peanuts from a streetside vendor, a bouquet of flowers from another streetside vendor, and a pink thong, which i thought was supposed to be a gag, but he put it on, and kristy seemed to expect it. i have weird friends.

we also had a show at the local youth group monthly party. i didn't think we did very well; we were sorely ill prepared. we did debut our song 'kristy evans', though. (yes, it's named after andres' gir.lfriend. i promised her i'd name the song after her in some way. enter: simplicity.) i'm not sure what people thought of it, but let me say this: we finished the song to complete and utter radio silence and the rest of the night no one spoke of it at all. draw your own conclusions. i've drawn mine.

at the very least, we're being offered money for our work, and the amount is up to us to decide, though i'm hesitant to make a decision; the party was at a school auditorium/parish hall meaning we'll be taking money from the school and/or church. and god will smite me.

other than that, there's not much else to say other than that there are more songs on the way but expect them to be a tad depressing, because i can't shake a subtly bad feeling out from my system. toodles.
