i've never seen so many stereotypes in play here.
we're about 42% asian at uci. all the koreans smoke in their little 'korean only' groups. most of them are skinny, wear glasses, and play counterstrike like pros, too. the japanese kids are quiet and have the best fashion sense. chinese people here are quiet too, but not in a 'coolness factor' kind of way. they're usually a little too serious about school. the asian guys are either information and computer science majors or they toil in various fields of engineering. the asian girls are bio majors, but the white women are usually somewhere in the school of humanities. all 2 of the known indonesian people here are socially awkward and overly sarcastic. still, we're both awfully smiley for no reason.
and to top it off, i'll round up the 'minorities' here. the white people always wear rainbow sandals and carry around their longboards. they wear caps, either baseball or knit. the indian students tend to be pre-med.
i hope this doesn't offend people. i'm just writing about what i see here in the oddly perfect and sunny california crossroads of irvine.
